Teledentistry is redefining the oral healthcare system. It’s bringing affordable and accessible orthodontic care to more people, and the demand for remote treatments has only been increasing.

Why has the demand gone up? The treatment can be done from the comfort of your home and you’ll be getting the same professional treatment as visiting a doctor face to face.

Telehealth platforms are becoming more advanced every day as more people turn to remote care. The same is happening with dentistry. More people are looking for solutions and turning to the digital and virtual scene.

Getting straighter teeth has never been more convenient. No more long waits at the clinics, no more paying a fortune and no more taking time off work to visit the dentist. In fact, there’s no need to leave the house at all. Not only are the customers able to send in their concerns and questions, but they are also able to connect directly with their doctors to discuss their situation. Doctors can individually analyze each case and provide a custom treatment plan for each patient. The experience and results are the same as going in-person.

Here’s what to expect from a teledentistry appointment:

With Basma, it starts with a quick online assessment. In this survey, you will answer a few questions about your case and why you are looking for invisible aligner treatment. This will give us an idea of the case we will be treating and whether you are a suitable candidate for invisible aligners.

However, the questions you answer in the survey are not enough to prescribe a treatment for you. Since you are not coming in to see us, we will need to see the shape of your teeth. That’s why at the end of this survey you will be able to purchase an impression kit. Inside the kit, you will find everything you need to take the perfect impressions. Of course, our team is always there to guide you and walk you through the kit. At the end of your kit, we will ask you to take some photos that you can upload to your account. The photos and the impressions are the diagnostic information that our orthodontists need to prescribe the treatment to you.

To save all the information that you will send us, and we will send you (including your treatment plan and 3D viewer), you will create an account to get access to the platform.

You will upload the images to your account and an x-ray if needed.

Once your impressions are received, we’ll let you know and begin to analyze your case. At this point, our orthodontists will be able to determine whether you are a suitable candidate for Basma invisible aligners, or you will need to visit an orthodontist in person as not all cases qualify for treatment with remote aligners.

Here’s what happens after your impressions have been reviewed:

If our orthodontists determine that you can be appropriately treated with Basma invisible braces, then they will begin to plan your treatment. They will design a 3D view of how your smile will transform from before to after and we will upload you a treatment plan right to your account. This includes the length of your treatment, the number of aligners that you will need to get you that perfect smile, and some details about your case and how we fixed it.

You will be able to see all this information on your account. If you have any questions about your treatment before you begin, you will have the option to chat with the treating orthodontist to understand more about what was done and how your case was treated.

As soon as you are ready, all you have to do is approve your treatment plan by purchasing the treatment.

Here’s what happens when you purchase your invisible aligners:

As soon as your order is through, we will begin producing your invisible braces. You will receive a series of invisible aligners that you will wear for 2 weeks at a time. Each set of aligners in your treatment represents a movement in your smile. Slowly, but surely, you will get to the final smile that you have always been waiting for.

Throughout your journey, we will ask you to upload monthly pictures of your teeth to your account. These are progress pictures. The orthodontists will use them to determine whether your treatment is going according to plan or something needs to be changed.

We are always here to help you during your treatment and if you have any questions throughout, our experienced support team will be more than happy to help you.
